TRIOGRAPH forced the early pace and widened after leaving the backstretch, but tired and was-unable to hold the winner. THEONETOBEAT improved his position gradually from a rather slow beginning and caught PHANTOM HEELS near the end. PHANTOM HEELS had no excuse, being prominent early and quitting badly in the stretch. RAFFLE HOUSE was slow to begin and was outrun to the last eighth, then made up some ground. WEE HASH might have fared better but for going very wide on the stretch turn. The latter broke fast, but was outrun early, then hugged the rail in the stretch to head the field a sixteenth out, but was unable to last. KISSABLE took command early, retained a good lead although swinging wide on the stretch turn, but weakened in the last eighth. MAGNUS seemed to strike a soft spot in the track on the inside around the far turn and quit almost to a walk, then came again when taken out from the rail and was going well at the finish.
