Jewell Taken to Hospital SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 17.— Apprentice William Jewell was taken to the Revere General Hospital this afternoon to determine the extent of .his injuries receiyed when tossed backwards from Miss M. T. at the starting gate in the third race. The fractious filly* received a severe gash, in her leg and w.as ordered scratched from the event. Jewell appeared to have suffered bruises on his left leg but the track doctor decided to have X-rays made to insure agains internal injury.
