OCEAN CLIPPER saved ground while moving into contention and responded to energetic handling to outgame SUPPER DATE. The latter, always formidable, attained command from the outside entering the stretch and just missed. TRIGGER MOOSE outran SOUNDINGS for the lead on the turn, then was unable to retain her advantage. SOUNDINGS alternated in setting and pressing the early pace and faltered. GOLDEN REIGH failed to enter contention. GOLDEN GESTURE flattened out badly, as did PETTY LARCENY. TINSEL, under steadying restraint while"*within easy striking distance, wrested command inside the furlong pole and steadily increased her advantage under mild urging. MOFLAME saved ground while moving into contention, gained a * slight lead entering the stretch, but was not good enough. JAC. BRIER gained prominence nearing the stretch and lacked a late surge. DIXIE YANK rallied from far back, but made up very little ground through the stretch. REGAL GLAD raced evenly. MIDIOPOLIS turned in a dull effort. OPERATOR was outrun. IRISH GAME quit to a walk. SCOTTISH AIR broke alertly and raced SEE MY WAY into defeat, retained a clear advantage thereafter and won with speed in reserve. ABBEZAC, sluggish during the early stages, saved ground while rallying "and outfinished the others. MR. MIGHTY held a favorable position, but lacked a response when set down for the drive. GEZEL HOLLY was unable to stay with the early leaders and raced evenly after the "opening quarter. SEE MY WAY dueled with SCOTTISH AIR and faltered. LUNAR PARK lacked speed to enter contention. BLUE MAN, outrun early and taken up at the first turn to reach the outside, circled the entire field while rallying boldly, wrested command nearing the* furlong pole and, after drifting in slightly,- drew clear with mild ancorragerrent. JAMPOL, under steadying restraint while just off the pace, attained command on the final turn, but was no match for the winner. ONE COUNT held a favorable position, seemed a bit rank when placed to pressure and lacked a closing surge. PRIMATE set a good pace under rating, remained a factor to the stretch and faltered. SUB FLEET responded when roused on the final turn, was badly impeded and had nothing in reserve. GUSHING OIL failed to enter contention. ARROZ was always far back. COUNT FLAME showed nothing. HANDSOME TEDDY raced prominently to the three-eighths pole and gave way. ARMAGGEDON raced kindly and well placed early, but became rank on the final turn and seemed to be endeavoring to bear out.
