SIR MANGO engaged GOOD TIMES to the stretch, assumed command after disposing of the latter and drew clear when ridden out. BATTLE KING finished willingly, but could not reach the top one. GOOD TIMES raced with SIR MANGO for three-eighths mile, then gave way. GRECIA tired during the stretch run. DR. ALEX, on the outside from the start, bore out during the running and could not seriously threaten the leaders. HELOT was outrun. JOE CLOSE was through early. SHOW RING began slowly. ORATORY went to the front at once, raced HALRACK into defeat after three-eighths mile, then continued willingly under brisk handling and held MONEY BROKER safe. MONEY BROKER raced evenly to the stretch, finished fast, but could not get to the top one, although easily best of the others. VADAPUR made a bold bid entering the stretch, then faltered. CROSSBOW GIRL, on the outside throughout, faltered during the drive. CARROL HART was outrun. HALRACK engaged ORATORY until inside the- stretch, then gave way. JACK JAY was never prominent. SPARKLEE, never far back, steadily worked way forward to the stretch, responded well when set down in the drive and, after disposing of AIR ARM, won going away. The latter went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch but could not hold the winner. BOWLED OVER, on the outside from the start, gave a good effort. DICKS HAY DAY began fast, raced with AIR ARM for a half mile, then weakened. SWAMP . GUIDE was1 never dangerous. PARK PIGEON could not keep up., DERWOOD tired. SIGNABERRA began sluggishly and was never a serious threat. ARIZONA K raced wide after the start, straightened up under good handling after leaving the backstretch and, responding to punishment during the drive, raced by GREEN SABER in the last sixteenth. The latter began fast and opened a good lead in the first half mile, continued determinedly under punishment during the stretch run but could not hold the winner. BIG CAT lacked early speed, but finished veil under brisk urging. BLACK BANTAM saved ground throughout but failed to rally when set down through the stretch. MR. MICHAEL S. made a good bid entering the stretch, then tired. STAR WISH could not keep up. NINE BELLS was through early. ALA-FLASH began slowly and was never a serious contender. NICKEY W., forwardly placed from the start and smartly handled, raced within striking distance of the leader to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and continued determinedly enough to withstand THE GINK. The latter, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, was taken out slightly for the stretch run and closed strongly, but . could not overtake the top one. SABAEAN, a sharp factor from the start, held on well in a sharp effort. LITTLE IMP lacked early speed, but-finished fast when sent to the inside for the drive. BLACK GEORGE had early speed, but failed to stay. SECOND AVENUE was outrun. BLOODY STEP began slowly and was never dangerous. OUR KITE showed nothing. SANDTOP, far back but saving ground until reaching the stretch turn, remained next to the inner rail for the drive and, responding to strong handling, wore down the leaders in the last seventy yards. LOT-A-BRASS was hustled to the front early, made the pace "to the last sixteenth, then gave way to SANDTOP, but continued determinedly to withstand HAPPY GO LUCKY. The latter, reserved while racing forwardly placed to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, after racing to LOT-A-BRASS, hung in the last strides. OLD FIDDLE began slowly, but finished fast. OUR CHALLENGE began fast, raced prominently to the stretch, then weakened. BROWN RAMBLER had early speed, but failed to stay. SEA RIPPLE, roughed when caught in close quarters at the upper turn, failed to recover. BRIAN BORU was outrun. JET ACE was through early.
