Count Speed Two-Yea r-Olds Have Knack of Winning LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 17.— Among sires of two-year-old winners this year, Count Speed probably has the highest percentage of youngsters to win their first starts. The young brother of Count Fleet, who stands in Canoga Park has had five juvenile winners so far and four of them — Speedy Ace, Speedy Wave, Count Twenty and Red Speed — scored at first asking. Strangely, however, his best, Countess Jane didnt get into the winners circle until her second try. But since then she has captured the Rosedale and Fashion Stakes and is now looked upon as the queen of the two-year-old fillies in New York.
