Abercrombie Buys 1,400 Acres of Hartland Farm Texan Is Understood to Represent Daughter, Mrs. F. Segura, in Sale VERSAILLES, Ky., May 17.— Reports that the Silas Mason Company had sold 1,400 acres of historic Hartland Farm near here to James H. Abercrombie, Houston, Texas, were confirmed today by the firms president, W. Arnold Hanger. The tract, all of the Hartland land on the north side of the Versailles -Frankfort road, will be renamed, and it is understood that Abercrombie represented his daughter, Mrs. Fernando Segura, in the purchase. Horatio Mason will manage the acreage, which will be devoted to thoroughbreds, cattle, tobacco and other farm projects, until a permanent manager is appointed. Abercrombie, banker and independent oil operator, owns 40 thoroughbred" mares. He has bred and raced horses for a number of years on a minor scale. The remaining 700 acres of Hartland will continue to be operated by Hanger for his company. On that portion of the farm now are such noted mares as Harmonica, Richmond Rose, Sweet Caprice and Light Lady. "Mr. and Mrs. Abercrombie and their daughter, Mrs. Segura, are fine additions to our community," Hanger said today. "They have long fancied horses and Mr. Abercrombie. is one of the most respected operators in the oil business. He has served frequently on numerous national committees of the oil industry."
