Grant Dorland to Sell Five Yearlings at Saratoga Sales LEXINGTON, Ky., May 29. This year, for the first time since 1942, the yearlings from Grant A. Dorlands Roseland Farms will be on the Saratoga market. The Lexington nursery is preparing five head three colts and two fillies A similarly balanced weanling consignment, representing the balance of the 1951 foal crop, was sold at the Keeneland Sales last, November. The Saratoga colts are by Eight Thirty, Lovely Night, and Challedon. Their dams are the handicapper Sirlette, Blue Larkspurs full sister, Born Wise, and the stakes class winner, Key Ring. Both fillies are by the young Australian sire, Royal Gem II., in which Dorland owns an interest. They are representatives of the Black Brocade family, one being out of her granddaughter, Crackaloo, and the other out of the lat-ters winning daughter, Brown Brocade. Both fillies have three crosses to Black Duchess. Dorland reports that his six 1950 yearlings have been doing well at the races. The current three-year-olds include Sand- ! top, allowance winner and third in the 0,000 Florida Derby, beaten a head and nose; Stage, recent allowance winner at Belmont, the winners Sun Roamer and Callana, and the placed horses, Staller and Neroli.
