BALMORAL, in hand while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded to brisk urging during the drive and wore down WITCH WAY in the last sixteenth. WITCH WAY went to the front at once, made the pace Until inside of the stretch while engaging MISTER PERFECT, raced the latter into defeat but could not hold the winner. RAY COUNT MISS lacked early speed, saved ground .during the drive but could not reach the top ones. MISTER PERFECT tired after forcing .WITCH WAYS pace to the last eighth mile. TEXAS RAIN could not keep up. BOLD KING stumbled at the start and could not reach serious contention. HIDDEN MOTIVE was outrun. PLAY REQUEST was never prominent. HISTORY MAKER, well handled, moved up fast approaching the stretch and, after racing NOBLE IDEA into defeat, lasted to withstand OATKA. The latter, away slowly, was outrun to the last three-eighths mile, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, closing fast, was getting to the winner at the finish. NOBLE IDEA went to the front early, gave way to HISTORY MAKER when challenged, then came again when set down in the drive but was unable to overtake the top ones. FINAL EDITION lacked early speed but finished fast. IM DON could- not keep up. FREEDOM TRAIN tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. PRO was never dangerous. HALS CHICK quit after displaying brief speed. SUN BOUND quit. Scratched 57963 Clearance, 109: 579633 Fulgura, 114. Noble Idea claimed by Starboard Stable.
