Legion to Honor B. A. DaVio At Testimonial Dinner June 4 CUMBERLAND, R. I., May 29. A testimonial for B. A. Dario, managing director of Lincoln Downs, will be held on June 4, at 7:00 p. m., in the Sherman-Leclerc American Legion Post home on Mendon Road, in Cumberland, R. I. Many well known sports personalities from New England are scheduled to attend the affair. Dario recently leased the town farm property in the hill area for a nominal fee for five years to expand his horse-breeding farm and in return has volun teered to give a five-year lease to the Legion on its land rental at .00 per year. The Post previously paid 0.00 a month for their home on the farm. The testimonial will be the Post members appreciation to Dario. The Sherman-Leclerc Legion Post is a non-profit organization and turns in most of its proceeds towards the upkeep of the Hill Playground which was established several years ago for the Cumberland Hill children.
