: . : , p? - Butch K., Dad and Bolingcall Meet Again Today at Omaha Finished in That Order in i Last Saturdays Handicap; Three Others Also Entered By J. SWEENEY GRANT Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., May 29. The Monaghan Stables highly regarded West Coast importation Bolingcall, who failed to race to expectations in his first start of the Omaha meeting will be accorded the opportunity of atoning for that defeat in tomorrows renewal of the ,000 Ak-Sar-Ben Memorial Handicap. The holiday event, which will be contested over the one mile and 70 yards distance, attracted five other formidable entrants including Guy and Walter Shultz Butch K., winner of last Saturdays edition of the Ak-Sar-Ben Council Handicap. As a result of his smashing success in last weeks assigned weight essay Butch K. will be asked to parade postward in tomor-. rows issue under the top impost of 113 pounds. Bolingcall has been assigned ill pounds by racing secretary Linus Pierce. Comprising the remainder of the group are William S. Clines Dad, 110; Rorick and Lanes Dr. Tulip, 109; Mrs. Paul Weyer-mans Caucus, 104, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Craigs Reno Upabout, 103. Butch K. defeated both Dad and Bolingcall in the Council Handicap in an auspicious manner. The Schultz gelding maintained a one and three-quarter lengths advantage over Dad at the termination of the mile and 70 yards completed in 1:42 over a strip termed good. Bolingcall was an additional three lengths removed. The winner will be asked to assume a three-pound heavier burden tomorrow, whereas Dad and Bolingcall will be dropping one and two pounds, respectively. The change in weights could easily make the difference. Butch K. has never been better, however, and the manner in which he turned back his rivals last time would seem to suggest that he possibly could come forth with a repeat victory. Dad had little or no excuse in his def efat. He was gradually getting to the leader during the final furlong. Some Excuse for Defeat Bolingcall did have more than a reasonable amount of excuse for his somewhat unimpressive ishowing. He only recently arrived from California but a few days before that engagement and was called upon for just a five furlong work. Bolingcall obviously was considerably short of his best effort and last Saturdays race should have proven the necessary tightener. Butch K. will be ridden by his usual rider, Rplley Poulter. John Brooks will have the mount on Dad and Taylor Powell again will be astride Bolingcall. Dr. Tulip was scheduled to start in the Council Handicap, but was declared at a late hour. In his first and only appearance here he finished fifth in the second division of the Inaugural Handicap. During the winter months he accounted for two purses at Phoenix. The previous year he won four" races. R. Ford most likely will be in the saddle. Reno Upabout registered one victory earlier in the year at Golden Gate while competing against ,000 rivals. The Craig racer placed fourth in the Council Handicap in which he displayed a mild stretch run to be defeated some five and one-quarter lengths by Butch K. Caucus, who was recently purchased by Mrs. Weyerman from the Kentucky breeder, Hal Price Headley, started this year in theJBlue Grass sector, but was unable to show to advantage. In her last start at Keeneland the striking miss was defeated by ,500 sprinters. Caucus, three-year-old daughter of Sir Damion and Askmenow, started 12 times during her juvenile tenure and registered but a lone success. Seven other attractive events support the nominal attraction. All should provide exciting sport for the large crowd expected to be in attendance for the holiday program. Post time for the first event will remain at 2:00 p.m. PERNE L. GRISSOM His recently acquired Dixie Flyer is one of the favorites in the F. M; Alger Memorial Handicap at Detroit today.
