Ohio Notes RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, May 29. Trainer Jim Hughes, formerly associated with Horatio Luro, registered eight horses, the property of the Pebblebrook Farm of C. G. Raible, of Cleveland; Nevile and J. B. Dunn, of Lexington, and S; S. Scheide-man, of Union, Ky. Joe Marinelli, who has spent the last few years training a string of horses, has deserted the ranks of the conditioners to return to the saddle where he was successful for many years. Marinelli is scheduled to ride on the opening day program. The contingent of trainers from the Blue Grass area who are on hand for the meeting include Carter Thornton, with 11; Doug Davis, Jr., with five, and Herb Stevens with six head. The three are well known in Lexington breeding circles. Agent "Slim" Summers reported that apprentice W. D. Lucas, leading rider at the Fort Miami meeting and well up on the Beulah Park riding list, will be on hand for the opening program.
