Master Red, Hap Glaudi In Sportsmans Sprint Each Has Won at Current Meet; Brookshire, Red Comet Entered SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 4. — Master Red, a speedy three-year-old from the stable of Merle Mitchell, will probably be one of the favorites in the feature race at this track tomorrow. The young gelding will be trying for his second success of the meeting, he having won here on the second day of the session. In that race, which was at five furlongs, Master Red defeated Pink Mink and Set Shot, regarded as two of the best short distance horses on the grounds. Tomorrows race will be at five furlongs and will be known as the Swing On Purse. Aside from Master Red, the only entrant to have made good at this meeting is Hap Glaudi, who won over Predictor and Queen Irish last week. Hap Glaudi is owned by Dave Pailet. It may be that a couple of racers making their 1953 bow in the Chicago territory will offer some contention. Mrs. George Emicks Brookshire won for a ,500 claiming price at Hialeah and was claimed out of the event by Mrs. Emick. Red Comet, who will represent Lon S. Green, was also a winner at the Florida track in February. He won for a ,000 claiming price. Others in the Tuesday race are Marion VanBergs Dink, Robert G. Burns On Train, Woodin Stables Posses, and John E. Nolans Little Jonesy. Dink was a winner at Oaklawn Park, Little Jonesy clicked early in April at Gulfstream Park but has been twice beaten here; Possess was out of the money opening day and came back to be sceond to Set Shot; and On Train was fourth in the race won by Master Red. It is likely that Sportsmans Park patrons will view some fast track racing for a change this week. The strip was in heavy or muddy condition all last week, but with a switch in conditions fuller and better fields may be in order.
