Dainger Ring in Romping Victory at Ascot Park Takes Featured Warren Purse by Five Lengths Over Psychic Mabel By RONALD KRANCER Staff Correspondent ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 4. — C. D. DiMaios Dainger Ring scored a lopsided five-length victory in this afternoons featured Warren Purse before some 3,800 fans here at Ascot Park. For the first time of the meeting top coats were dispensed with and shirt sleeves were rolled up. Dainger Ring was ridden by Gardner Darlington in his winning move and covered the four and a half furlongs in :53 flat over a lightning fast strip. Psychic Mabel woud up second three lengths in front of Deep Fen. Dr. Pentick the favorite lacked his usual early foot and wound up a disappointing seventh in the 10-horse field. The winner was making his third start of the current spring meeting and has now accounted for two victories. In the Warren he broke second behind Archmere, but soon thereafter had gained a commanding three-length lead while in along the rail. On the final bend the ultimate winner drew clear by four lengths, a margin he retained at the furlong marker where jockey Darlington hustled the son of Dainger Lewis up somewhat. In the final 70 yards Dainger Ring going along very nicely increased that advantage by another length. It was a cleanly run race except that Deep Fen was caught in the switches racing into the far turn and had to be pulled. The sixth race which served as a cofeature was taken by Mr. and Mrs. Pete Maxwells High Reno by four lengths over Foxy Boy. The winer was a cofavorite along with Grey Bill and paid .40. It was the fourth win of the season for the Maxwell colorbearer and his first at Ascot Park. Sea Wind, ridden by Willie Downs, showed a sharp reversal of form in winning the fourth race. Sea Wind gained the lead while on the backstretch increased her margin while on the final bend and wound up an easy 10-length victress.
