Possibilities for Preakness On May 23 at Pimlico Listed PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 4.— Harry F. Guggenheims Dark Star and Alfred G. Vanderbilts Native Dancer, who staged a never-to-be-forgotten finish in the Kentucky Derby, are among the nominees for the seventy-seventh running of the 00,000 Preakness at Pimlico on Saturday, May 23. Saxon Stables Invigorator and Eugene Constantin, Jr.s Maryland favorite, Royal Bay Gem, third and fourth, respectively, at Churchill Downs also are Preakness eligibles, as are six of the other seven, horses in the Derby. Lone absentee is E. M. Goemans Curragh King. Preakness possibilities who did not face the starter in the Blue Grass classis include Brookfield Farms Isasmoothie, A. J. Crevo-lins Decorated, Rokeby Stables Magic Lamp, Spring Hill Farms Jamie K., Ben F. Whitakers Tahitian King, Brookmeade Stables County Clare and Frank I. Wrights Sakr-El-Bahr. The Preakness is at one mile and three- sixteenths, one sixteenth of a mile shorter than the Kentucky Derby, and 135 horses were on the original list of nominations. Supplementary nominations, at a cost of ,500 per horse, may be made through May 9.
