Schedule Montchanin Series STANTON, Del., May 20.— With a desire to foster distance racing, Delaware Park at is meeting opening May 29, will again schedule the Montchanin Handicap series, starting June 3. This series of Wednesday distance events will start at one mile and a sixteenth, with a purse of ,000, with the distance and purse money increasing every week. The Montchanin is for three-year-olds and upward that have raced for a claiming price of ,500 or less since October 2, 1952. Following the running of the first in the series, purses will be increased 00 with each running. An additional award of ,500 will be awarded to the owners of the horses receiving the greatest number of points, awarded to first, second, third or fourth.
