ROCK VINCENT moved early to force the pace, gained command after a half mile, increased her advantage and withstood the challenge of INTERMITTENT. The latter ranged up on the outside after three furlongs and was pressing at the end. SCIPIO broke sluggishly, was roused early to move between horses, came through along the inside, but was unable to menace. GEE WHIZ had no mishap. BER MAR BOY showed a good effort. ALPHARA lacked early speed. CHARM PRINCE broke sluggishly. MISS STONE broke alertly, stayed with the pace to the final quarter mile and weakened. ALBANY FAIR was never prominent. ANSWER MAN drew clear soon after the start, was rated at an even pace had something left when challenged and proved very stubborn to overtake. I RVINGTON rushed boldly on the extreme outside entering the stretch, bore in repeatedly, hampering rider and hung in late stages. HATTIES GIFT finished stoutly. KENTUCKY HOME raced close to the pace, came out slightly on the final turn, responded to steady urging and was pressing at the end. STRATHEDEN made up ground from off the pace. HIGH HEAD bounced into command at once, skirted the inner rail to protect lead and increased the advantage under intermittent pressure. ROYAL MARVEL, never far off the pace and saving ground to stretch, was steered outside, losing valuable ground, and was unable to regain the distance. ROYAL DUKE forwardly placed, held on tenaciously in the drive. GEORGE W. W. moved close to the pace after a quarter mile, moved wide on final turn and failed to make up ground in stretch. GRANDMA JOSIE assumed command under restraint down the backstretch, drew clear and came out slightly in stretch, withstood a sustained drive and held ANDRE safe. The latter opened a commanding lead soon after the break, remained in close attendance after giving way, moved along the inside, was steered outside and back to the inside but failed to reach the leader. REGAL, a forward factor throughout, continued on gamely under a drive. NOLA HASH saved ground to no avail. THE MINOR went wide on the final turn. TIO CIRO was outrun.
