Discovery-Now and Again FillyAwarded Blue Ribbon Takes First Prize at Yearling Show of Maryland Breeders Assn. PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 20.— Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilfs brown filly by Discovery out of Now and Again, she by Bahram, was -declared champion of the annual yearling show held by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association yesterday. Preston M. Burch, trainer of the Brook-meade Stable, was the judge of the show, which was held at Pimlico. This was the eighth championship won by a Vanderbilt yearling since 1932, when the yearling shows were inaugurated. The Discovery filly, naturally, was champion of the class for fillies foaled in Maryland, produce of mares covered in Maryland. Other divisional titles went to Cleve land Skinker, whose Manador — Carib Song colt won the class for colts, produce of mares covered in Maryland; Douglas R. Small, with an Orestes m.— Barbara R. colt, in the class for mares covered outside of Maryland, and Harold H. Polk, with Lindas Dream, by Wait-A-Bit out of Bay-melia, in the class for fillies from mares covered outside the state. Jerry Sullivan of Virginia and Julie Fisher of Eccleston, Md., were the winners in the amateur judging contest. Following the yearling show, members of the breeders group reelected the entire board of directors and they in turn reelected the slate of officers. Walter A. Edgar is president; Danny Shea, first vice-president; Mrs. Robert H. Heighe, second vice-president; Goss L. Stryker, secretary and treasurer. Other directors are Frank A. Bonsai, G. Ray Bryson, Bruce S. Campbell, J. Yancey Christmas, Alan T. Clarke, Janon Fisher, Jr., Stuart S. Lanney, Jr., Louis McL. Merryman, Joseph M. OFar-rell, John P. Pons and Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt.
