Y., ; May 20. — The Rosemont Handicap, a ,500 event for three-year-olds at one mile, heads j tomorrows Belmont Park program. This | test is named for Foxcatcher Farms win- • ner of the 1935 Withers and 1937 Santa j Anita Handicap and sire of the grand mare, I Bed o Roses. A field of eight has been . named for the Rosemont, headed by Brook-field Farms Isasmoothie and Wheatley Stables Hilarious with 122 pounds each. The ,500 Corinthian Steeplechase at i "about" two miles will also be renewed to- [ morrow, with a field of five representing four interests. Mrs. Esther duPont Weirs * The Mast, who was ridden by a debutante jockey in his last start and finished third to Oedipus and His Boots, is topweight here with 156 pounds and the veteran Bob McDonald. Montpeliers Sea Legs and Rigan • McKinneys Hot, in with 149 and 144 pounds, respectively, will probably be favored with Brookmeades His Boots, 146, also having strong support. The field is completed by F. Ambrose Clarks The Creek, 137 pounds. Easy Winner Last Saturday Hilarious owes his equal topweight in the Rosemont to an easy victory in a six-furlong dash here on Saturday, in which he merely breezed in 1:10%, fastest time of the meeting. This was the first victory of the year for the son of Bimelech and also the first time he was ridden by Ted Atkinson. Hilarious had showed great promise as a juvenile, but fell victim to a throat ailment and sundry temperamental quirks before abruptly returning to his best form on the week end. Isasmoothie finished with a furious rush along the rail to be second to Tahitian King in the Swift Stakes last out and had 10 sophomores behind him, including Hilarious. Others of tomorrows field who finished unplaced in the Swift are Valley Farms Impasse and Mrs. C. O. Iselins Bradley. The latter and C. V. Whitneys Fly Wheel were badly beaten by Hilarious in their next starts. Eddie Arcaro will ride Isasmoothie. The Rosemont field is completed by Mrs. Wallace Gilroys speedy filly, Emardee, Mrs. M. F. Drinkhouses Chief Fanelli and War-bern Stables Sickels Sound. Emardee finished fourth in the Acorn Stakes last out, was unplaced in New Jersey before that, but has frequently showed a high turn of speed. Chief Fanelli won a sprint at Jamaica, then was nosed out in another at Garden State, while Sickles Sound frequently finishes as though he wants to go two miles and was second to Jamie K. last out.
