WARAVID was hard held while in close quarters several times on the inside in the first six furlongs, then moved up entering the stretch and dropped down on the inside of PRINCE ADARIS an eighth out, bested the latter in a drive. PRINCE ADARIS showed good early speed and, although losing some ground in the stretch, held on well. TAROM was close to the pace throughout and had no trouble besting the others. FLIGHT CAPTAIN made up some ground in the stretch. JUDY ROUNDERS and HOPE HULL were used up in the first six furlongs and had little left. ACQUIESCE dropped back after going half the trip. Overweight— Marwood, 4 pounds. Prince Adaris claimed by J. J. Gregory. Judy Rounders claimed by W. H. Bishop. Hope Hull claimed by H. J. Hough. .EIGHTH RACE 1 3-16 MILES turf course. QUEEN OF SILKS came strongly after going half the trip to take a good lead nearing the stretch turn, but was forced to a drive near the finish to hold COQUINET. The latter was outrun early, but closed fast and gamely and was gaining on the winner. BELCON was never too far away in a steady effort. ARCHIBALDO weakened in the stretch. BATTLE CLOUD failed to threaten. THE BARRISTER III. tired. FIGHTING DAY was badly outrun. FIXED STAR refused to break and was left, but raced after the field to the end.
