Grier, trained by L. Phillips; bred by Mrs. E. G. Burke. REACHED POST-6:06. OFF AT 6:06 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. TAPE READER, unhurried while outrun, as usual, rallied between horses and quickly challenged when the top pair raced wide into the stretch, then gradually drew clear in the final run. BANJOIST lost a little ground throughout while racing on the outside, but steadily improved position and finished gamely. BRIAN BORU, under snug reserve and saving ground, willingly went to the front entering the stretch, but tired. JACK JR. raced in close pursuit of BLUE HELMET, was carried out beyond the middle of the track by that one on the stretch turn, but overcame interference to finish well. OUR EMBLEM lacked a rally. BLUE HELMET set the pace under pressure to the final turn and bolted. BERTRANDVILLE did not extend himself. ROMAN LAW was pulled up lame. Attendance, 20,597; Total Mutuel Pool, ,986,939.
