POLO went to the front on the far turn, gave way to PRISM after a half-mile, regained the lead entering the stretch and, though tiring during the concluding strides, had enough left to prevail over STRUTTING HIGH. The latter raced forwardly placed while on the outside, came fast when set down for the drive and closed with good energy. MID CENTURY finished resolutely and rapidly was overtaking the leaders. JUESBU, between horses during the early running, failed to rally sufficiently when shaken. ORFERO lacked early foot. PRISM quit. RUCHE was unable to obtain the lead and tired. SHEER WORTH and HEIRESS were never formidable. BLUE SHOCKER stopped badly once displaced. CORRECT retired steadily after possessing brief speed. Mid Century claimed-by A. Levinson. GIRDER, well ridden, remained back of the pace to the stretch, came to the inside for the stretch run and was up in the concluding stride to out-finish DEUX-MOULINS. The latter alternated in setting and pressing the early pace, regained command between calls during the stretch run and held on tenaciously. FIRST WING assumed a commanding lead when straightened for the stretch run, shortened stride when punished and was unable to last. 0UTBIRD came out for the drive, but was not good enough. ALA-FLASH lacked ample racing room when starting his belated rally. WINDY quit. BEIRUT was through early. Scratehed-«962 Currunuinca, 111.
