i | , i Officials for Waterford Park Meet Approved by Commission CHESTER, W. Va., May 27.— Andrew R. Winters of Huntington, W. Va., who this season is serving his fifth year as steward representing the West Virginia Racing Commission, is expected tomorrow at nearby Waterford Park, where a 40-day horse race meeting gets underway Monday, June 1. He heads the list of racing officials as approved by the racing commission chairman, James F. Edwards. Slated to serve along with Winters in the stewards stand are R. Norman Charlton of Boston, Mass., and Richard A. Johnson of Laurel, Md. Placing judges for the session are George Bloomgren, Robert Edwards, and a newcomer, Calvin Bowling of Baltimore. The clerk of scales post is to be held down by Joseph Brocator; John Pons, paddock judge; George C. Rose, timer and identifier; patrol judges, Dan McTaggart and the former well known jockey, Willie Garner; starter, Harold Holland, and J. Gil Haus and Gregory I. Johnson, racing secretary and assistant racing secretary, respectively. Because of commitments at Delaware Park, where he also serves as racing secretary, Haus will be forced to absent himself for some time. His task will be handled by Gregory Johnson, former Baltimore newspaperman and well known eastern racing official.
