LOGO made a couple of futile attempts to find an opening in the run down the backstretch, then was eased back nearing the stretch turn and, sent up on the inside when straightened out for the stretch run, took command to win going away. HOBAD was always a good contender and gained a narrow advantage after entering the stretch to best ACE CAPTAIN. The latter was a forward factor from the start and held on fairly well.
