Eleven Speedsters V*e J In University City Purse MondesWarTopsFairmount Field; J Pretty Cindy Looms Main Threat i By C. A. LINDEMAN. s Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., i May 27. — Eleven speedy sprinters in the i three- and four-year-old group will go i postward in the University City Purse, . . which provides the main attraction on i tomorrow nights card of eight events. This j race is fashioned for horses that have not won two races in their careers and brings j out some fast sprinters who are out after . their second set of brackets. Distance of I the feature is set at six furlongs and the purse is ,300. Topping the field is M. Reeces Mondes War, who comes to this race with a victory to his credit earned at the Oaklawn Park meeting at Hot Springs. In that winning effort the three-year-old son of John One had to come from far back to get up in the final sixteenth to outgame : such horses as Texas Melody and Future : Reward to win by three-quarters of a i length going away. That winning race was i at five and one -half furlongs and the : added sixteenth at which the feature is 5 to be decided gives the Reece star a much i better chance. Pretty Cindy, owned by the Broadway Stable, looms as the main threat to Mondes 5 War off her race at the Sportsmans Park meeting in which she was returned the winner of a five-furlong dash by six lengths over the sprinter Parkes Pick in 1:03% over a track labelled heavy. This filly is by Equifox and taking recent morning trials over -a fast racing strip it appears she can hold her own over most any y type of track.
