KELLYS MISTAKE made a good move to take a short lead nearing the stretch turn, and while unable to hold the winner, was much the best of the others. BLOODY BATTLE was always well up and saved ground in the stretch but weakened. MICROWAVE dropped back to last place after going a quarter, then came to the rail nearing the stretch turn to save ground, but again went to the outside on the stretch turn and was unable to threaten. INTENTION and LUART were used up early. Overweight— Cranbrook, 1 pound. NINTH RACE 1 i-8 MILES. Oil Capitol, Sept. 20, 1952— 1:49Vs— 5— 114. Purse ,700. 4-year-olds q A 9 a*K* upward. Claiming. KNIGHT-AT-ARMS came strongly after leaving the backstretch and, although going very wide in the stretch, got to the front in the last sixteenth to win under pressure. WOODSIDE improved his position under urging and was going gamely at the end. STRIKE OUT, close up from the start, headed the field when straightened out for home and went gamely to the finish. HEDGEWOOD was forced to take up soon after the start and dropped far out of it, but closed with a rush between horses. GRACIOUS HEART weakened slightly near the finish.
