ANTHONY C. was alertly handled to reach the front racing between horses, drew clear rounding the turn and handily maintained his advantage at the end. BOLD BLUE raced through an opening on the inside to gain closer contention on the final turn, bore out slightly at the head of the stretch and could not get to the winner under punishment. BOLD MYTH, a forward factor, was carried slightly wide into the stretch by BOLD BLUE and lacked a rally. FOUR DOWN began slowly, raced between horses and finished well. FRESH BREEZE, trailing while sluggish early, found room on the inside rapidly making up distance after a half-mile, displaced the tiring SILK QUEST entering the last furlong and then was taken strongly in hand for the finish. The latter raced D0RIENNE into defeat and opened a long lead on the final turn, then was tiring badly when challenged, but remained clearly best of the others. ROYAL FREEDOM raced prominently placed under pressure and held on evenly. D0RIENNE could not shake free from SILK QUEST and quit. BOOTS HAVEN was outrun. SPRING MORN quit. Mitchell; bred by H. W. Shaffer. REACHED POST-*:11. OFF AT 6:11 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. MILLDALE, reserved off the early pace, found an opening between horses entering the stretch, wrested command under hard punishment, and drew clear. BLUE DANUBE bore out and impeded BRIAN BORU at the start, raced closest to the pace nuder steady pressure and held on gamely to the end. GREY ARROW was lightly rated setting the pace, saved all possible ground and regained command after being displaced on the final turn; but weakened when headed by MILLDALE. BRIAN BORU, slightly crowded at the start, was in hand racing with the first flight, swung to the outside for the drive and could not get up. BEA MARONY was hustled into command from the inside on the turn and weakened under prolonged urging. HIGH TREND raced well out in the track and, after running up behind horses on the final turn, lacked a rally. Blue Danube claimed by J. L. McKnight. Attendance, 20,474; Total Mutuel Pool, ,081,831.
