Money Broker Will Fulfill Engagement In Lincoln Fields Peabody Memorial Florida Derby Winner Due at* Hawthorne From Detroit; Howard Craig to Do Riding HAWTHORNE, Cicero, M., May 28.— Racing secretary Larry Bogenschutz received word today from trainer Vester R. "Tennessee" Wright that he will van the G. and G. Stables Florida Derby winner, Money Broker, to Hawthorne to keep his engagement here Saturday in Lincoln Fields 0,000 Peabody Memorial Stakes. Money Broker is coming from Detroit and is expected to arrive at this west side track early tomorrow morning. His arrival will follow closely that of Eugene Constantin, Jr.s Royal Bay Gem, who came Tuesday and is bedded down with a couple of less distinguished stablemates. Following his engagement in the Peabody, Royal Bay Gem will depart for New York, there to meet Native Dancer again in the Belmont Stakes on June 13. The Constantin colt finished third to Native Dancer in the Preakness last Saturday. Money Broker beat 16 other three-year-olds in the Florida Derby on March 21, including the Kentucky Derby winner, Dark Star, who bowed a tendon in the Preakness and has been retired, and Jamie K., the Spring Hill Farm colt which gave such a desperate and close battle to Native Dancer in the Preakness. Money Broker was eighth in the Kentucky Derby, but had previously finished second to Dark Star in the Derby Trial, and third to Correspondent and Straight Face in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland. His present earnings amount to 18,705, of which he garnered 05,895 this year, although he was a winner of six races at two last season. Mrs. T. M. Daniels Ace Destroyer, another of Money Brokers victims in the Florida Derby and unplaced in the Kentucky Derby, has a few old scores to settle with both Money Broker and Royal Bay Gem and will try to do it in the Peabody. Jockey Howard Craig is coming from Detroit to ride Money Broker Saturday. Dixi-anas Berseem, who worked a mile handily in 1:43 on a dull track between races Monday, is regarded as a certain starter in the Peabody and probably will have Spy Defense as a running mate. Hasty Farm is expected to start both Platan and Torch of War. Sam E. Wilsons Oil Gusher and Pick and Play breezed together this morning and one is expected to carry the colors of their Corpus Christi owner in the big race. Although Red Top Stables Dax worked a half handily in : 49% on a good track this morning, trainer Dave Hum said the stables chief reliance in the Peabody probably will be New Stream. Red Top also nominated Rhinestone.
