MATES BOY, unhurped while just off the leaders, responded to energetic handling through the stretch and wore down BOLO MACK. The latter was always formidable, drove to the fore entering the stretch and failed to last. NICK BLOOM could not menace the top pair while improving his position gradually. PETROGRAD set the pace and pressed the pace into the stretch, dropped back during the drive and came out of the race dead lame. IMPERIAL PIE attained prominence with a bold bid along the backstretch, retained prominence to the stretch and quit. DREAM MAKER quit to a walk after a brief display of speed and was outdistanced.
