Seaward Seeks Repeat Lincoln Tally In Lombard Purse At Nine Furlongs Must Turn Back Abbe Sting, Penaway, Dr. Ole Nelson at Hawthorne Under 1 20 Pounds HAWTHORNE, Cicero, HI., May 27. — Hasty House Farms Seaward, who did much better in his first start at the current Lincoln Fields meeting than his old partner, Inseparable, did in his first essay, will try to make it two in a row when he meets six others in the mile and one-eighth Lombard Purse here at Hawthorne tomorrow. One of the other six is Sea-wards stablemate, Tahitian. In the mile and one -sixteenth Naperville Purse last Friday Seaward was a handy winner by three lengths, carrying 109 */£ pounds. Two of his victims that day were H. G. Bockmans Penaway and Mrs. J. P. Keezeks Abbe Sting, who finished third and fourth, respectively. Those two are among the eight-year-old Pilate geldings opponents tomorrow, when Seaward will be the top weight of the field with 120 pounds. His rider, as in the Naperville Purse, will be the veteran Johnny Adams, whose son, John Ralph, will ride another starter, Dr. Ole Nelson, with a package of 113 pounds. Each to Carry 111 Both Penaway and Abbe Sting will carry 111 pounds in the Lombard. This is three less for Abbe Sting and three more for Penaway than they carried in the Naperville. Ronnie Baldwin will ride Penaway in place of L. C. Cook, who rode him last week, while Al Popara takes the place of Kenneth Church on Abbe Sting. The four-year-old Tahitian, who finished fourth to Gala Fete in the six-furlong LaGrange Purse last Thursday, has 114 pounds in the Lombard. Others named to start in tomorrows feature are Walmac Farms four-year-old colt, Gone Goslin, 111, making his first start of the year, and E. N. Biscos Captain Bud, another four-year-old. Gone Goslin, a half-brother to Billings, closed the 1952 season with a win at Churchill Downs. Penaway has accounted for two races this year. Dr. Ole Nelson holds the mile and a quarter track record at Hawthorne, 2:01%, established in 1950, when he won the Hawthorne Gold Cup as his chief claim to fame. Seaward will be making the 101st start of his seven-year-career, during which he has won 20 races, placed in 33, and earned 17,555.
