Illinois Notes FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 13. Trainer Roy Slomer checked in from Chicago with four head, the property of Mrs. R. H. Green. The Green stable consists of /The Phoenix, Laura J. W,, Red Comet and Foxy V. ยง The woman trainer, Minnie Koonce, checked in from Ascot Park with her one horse stable of Flag Captain. Miss Koonce is also the owner. Trumac Stable trainer Ray Nelson announced that the useful seven-year-old mare, K. Tal, pulled up very lame after the running of the eighth race Wednesday night and will be sidelined indefinitely. The ex-horseman, Max Johnson, and his wife, are visiting at the local track for a few days. Johnson, who retired from the thoroughbred sport to enter the oil equipment business, will return to his El Paso home Sunday. Tommy Atwood, one of the leading riders at Fairmount Park five years ago, is now training a stable ofho rses for the Dora B. Ainsworth stable and has shown moderate success thus far this season.
