NEW YORK, N. Y., June 13.— Heartened by the excellent Jimmy Cater-Georgie Aranjo fight, officials of the International Boxing Club today, expected 10,000 fans and a gate of 0,000 for next Friday nights Bobo Olson-Paddy Young middleweight brawl at Madison Square Garden. The bout between Bobo and Paddy assumed greater significance today when promoter Jim Norris announced that Randy Turpin of England, European champion, had been signed to fight .Fridays winner for the vacant undisputed world crown at New York in late August. Ex-world champion Turpin beat Charles Humez of France at London last Tuesday. Olson was a solid favorite to beat Young in their nationally televised and broadcast 15-round fight for the American middleweight title. Carter Has Five Stitches Taken Meanwhile, lightweight champion Carter had five stitches taken in cuts about-his right eye. He suffered them during last nights thrilling defense of his 135-pound crown against young Araujo of Providence, R. I., before 7,132 in the Garden. Jimmy stopped Araujo in the 13th round. Carter will challenge at the boxing commission next week for a shot at Kid Gavi-lans welterweight crown. Araujo has been offered three fights in California by promoter Babe McCoy of Los Angeles. Last nights purses were not announced, but it was estimated Carter received about 3,100 from the 0,000 TV-radio fee and 6,511 gross gate. Araujo got about 3,000. Their 10-rounder will be televised nationally. , , Lightweights Armand Savoie of Montreal and Eddie Compo of New Haven meet at Brooklyns Eastern Parkway Arena in a TV light Monday night. Middleweights Tuzo Portuguez of Costa Rica and Joey Giambra of Buffalo, N. Y., will fight at ■ Buffalo next Saturday night an a coast-to-coast TV hook-up. One of the best bouts of the week will not • be televised. Young welterweight contenders Gil Turner of Philadelphia and unbeaten ■ Johnny Saxton of Brooklyn meet in t a 10-rounder at Philadelphia Monday night.
