Expect Eight Route Runners To Go in Omnibus Handicap MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 13. — The twentieth running of the 5,000 added Omnibus Handicap at Monmouth Park on Wednesday is expected to attract a field of about eight distance runners, according to an early rundown of probable starters. C. V. Whitneys Cold Command, top-weighted of the 16 nominees "under an assignment of 124 pounds, is likely to top the parade of talent, earning his impost through victory in the Blackstone Handicap at Jamaica and a pair of "seconds" behind Royal Vale in other features. Should trainer Syl Veitch elect to send him post-ward under the familiar eton blue and brown silks, he promises to be a short-price favorite of the crowd. Belair Studs Golden Gloves, winner of the recent Valley Forge Handicap, shapes up as second highweight under 115 pounds, while other likely starters include Joseph Gavegnanos Joey Boy, winner of the race a year ago; John S. Kroeses Again II.; Jaclyn Stables Closed Door, E. P. Bixers Count Flame, W. E. Browns Bank Coal and J. L. McKnights Thasian Hero. Outside possibilities also include H. B. Cohens Mully S. and H. C. Boorses G. R. Petersen.
