Stewards of the Australian Jockey Club today disqualified Cromis as the winner of the Sires Produce Stakes at the Randwick track on April 4. They placed Royal Tream first, Courtauld second, and Seacraft third. The stewards said they were satisfied that Cromis had been drugged before the race. They added that the owners, Mrs. J. W. Underwood and E. A. Underwood and trainer R. Sinclair, had taken all precautions to prevent the administration of the drug to Cromis at any relevant time and took no action against them. The Sires Produce Stakes is the main two-year-old race in New South Wales and was worth 3,200 to the winner. The stewards made inquiries following reports by the analyst that swabs from Cromis showed positive results. •
