BREADWINNER was closest , to VIRGINIA OAKS to the last sixteenth, then caught the latter tiring to pass her and win going away by a good margin. VIRGINIA OAKS set the pace and drewliway nearing the stretch turn to increase her lead while saving ground, but stopped badly near Jthe end and just lasted to hold DADS DEGREE to a dead-heat. The latter lacked early speed but came strongly through the stretch and would have been second in another stride. FLOYD E. edged out MR. BOB for fourth place. MR. BOB tired badly. ZINC was sent to the front early and well rated while making the pace, stood the closing drive gamely to hold ADAPTATION. The latter came to the outside in the stretch to make his run and was slowly gaining on the winner. THE FLIER moved up in the stretch4 but hung near the end. MASCARA weakened in the run home. WRANGLER was through after making . a mild move on the outside nearing the stretch turn. MING TOI dropped out of it after going a half mile. MR. ZIPPO was pulled up in the stretch when beaten off.
