CONVAIR was always close to the pace and, coming strongly on the outside of COURTS MAUDE in the last eighth, caught her near the end, but was all out to hold LEASE HOUND. The latter was also a forward factor and bore out slightly in the last furlong, but was going strongly at the end. COURTS MAUDE went to the front soon after the start and enjoyed a good advantage to the final sixteenth, then began to tire. SAXON CHARM made up ground. SWEET FREEDOM and FORGOTTEN MISS failed to be serious contenders. . VITAL SUN raced with AMAFOX A1IA„V and, on the inside of the latter until well into the stretch, then drew but when called upon and was an easy winner PRINCESS ANN lacked her usal early speed and was outrun to the stretch turn, then came strongly. COUNT EASTER made a good move on the inside after leaving the backstretch, and coming fast on the inside through the stretch got to the front near the end to hold SOLID RED. The latter trailed to the stretch, then came fast in the middle of the track. LOCARNO caught BREZNO entering the backstretch to go into a good lead and held on fairly well in the final drive SEVENTY-SEVEN was under restraint for the first six furlongs while following the pace, then moved up slightly in the stretch, but failed to threaten for the leadership and hung in the final drive. HATS FIDDLE went to the front earlv and snaking off SPARTAN JETT nearing the stretch turn, saved ground in the stretch to open up and was not in danaer although hand-ridden to the finish. DEAR SANDY gained gradually between horses in the stretch and was qoing well at the finish. HAPS REWARD, although racing rather wide, was a good contender throuohout ALSAB ACE was slow to strike his best stride but came well in the stretch. SPARTAN JETT " rushed up on the outside soon after the start but-was used up from his early efforts. RED PRIMROSE had early speed. ALEX moved up boldly in the early stretch but jo could not overtake the top pair when set down in the drive. ADMIRALS WAVE saved ground entering the stretch but failed to rally under urging. ELI COOKIE began sluggishly. VIE went to the front early, set the pace for a half.mil while engaging ETERNAL GOIN, then gave V?ay. LEAD PAD could not keep up after beginning alertly. McGRATHIANA raced evenly to the stretch was sent to the extreme outside for the drive and, responding to vigorous urging, wore down the leaders and won going away. LONOKE FLASH, much used racing BOLARIS into defeat, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand McGRATHIANA. BOLARIS took command early, set the pace until inside the stretch but faltered when challenged by LONOKE FLASH. BADGER gave a good effort and had no excuse. FIRST REFUSAL failed to rally when set down in the drive. SEDGEVIEW lacked early speed.. OUR CHALLENGE was outrun. BEANIR established a clear lead entering the stretch, responded to mild urging thereafter and won going away. LORI-JANE, never far back, took command between calls after the start, gave way to BEANIR before going a quarter mile and could not stay with the latter, although easily best of the others. NATCHEZ GIRL lacked early speed, saved ground during the stretch run, but was unable to threaten the top pair. MILITANT MISS began sluggishly and was never prominent COLS DAUGHTER, rank during the post parade, made a mild bid nearing the stretch, then gave way. LYSBETH could not keep up. ST. DOCTOR HEITZ, in hand to the upper turn, moved up fast entering the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and, disposing of HIT THE SPOT, won going away. The latter, a keen factor from the beginning, entered the stretch with a short lead, continued gamely under urging, but could not hold the top one, although much the best of the others. PRECIOUS STONE had early speed, but tired badly after three-quarters mile. ALIE-ED drifted out at the final turn and failed to rally whn straightened for the drive. GULF STREAM lacked early foot and was never prominent. WILLIAM TELL was through early. MIKEABY could not keep up. BIG HEARTED was through early. Overweight— Alie-Ed, 2 pounds.
