THE STRAW, never far back, took command when shaken entering the stretch and maintained a safe advantage over LYNN KONY. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, raced forvferdly to the furlong marker while saving ground, then closed with good energy. PLATTERPUSS failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. REGAL FLAVOR lacked the necessary rally. GRECIAN MAID went to the front with a rush on the far turn, but faltered when the real test came. GENEVA was outdistanced early. SWEET WENDY G. was outrun. MELODY AIR, fractious at the post, was never formidable during the running. CAJUN BELLE dropped back immediately after the start. HI CHIEF, slow to gain best ttride, responded gamely when called upon and was up in the concluding strides to prevail over RAMBLING MARY. The latter sprinted into a commanding advantage when straightened for the drive, shortened stride when chal-lenged and though unable to hold the winner, easily bested the others. DASH FOR CASH rallied too late to become an endangering factor. PRADO passed tiring horses. VERTREES lacked early speed. STILL GAY tired. SAN-JO was through after a half-mile. BUNDLRAB was unable to keep up. BLEU FEATURE moved up menacingly on the far turn then weakened. KADER quit. STANDEE was outrun. CARYS HOPE raced in nearest pursuit of INDIVIDUATE to the stretch, disposed of that one when ready and gradually drew clear. INDIVIDUATE held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, then held on willingly in a good effort. DENNY came to the inside for the stretch run, but under pressure was not good enough. JAM SESSION "drifted out slightly on the first turn, continued in the middle of the track when set down for the drive, but lacked a menacing rally. BAY STAR was unable to keep up. The winner worked out a mile in 1:38%. CONTRIBUTION was permitted to drop back after the start, responded willingly when set-down for the ultimate test and closed determinedly to easily prevail over the others. HILARIOUS reached the lead while racing on the outside on the final turn, but tired thereafter when punished. TRICK PILOT rallied too late to become an endangering /actor.
