Sussex, Talk by Heart Association Head on Air DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 25. — "In the public interest" broadcasts, aired non-commercially from 4:30 to 5 p.m. DST each Saturday from Delaware Park, this week end will feature the 5,000 added Sussex Handicap in conjunction with a talk by George M. MacLeod, president of the Delaware Heart Association. The half-hour program will again be carried on a five-way hookup by Wilmingtons WDEL, WILM and WAMS, along with Dovers WDOy and Georgetowns WJWL. Describing the running of the Sussex will be Bryan Field with Bob Kelley and Jack Lee handling the color and winners circle interviews. MacLeods organization is an affiliate of the American Heart Association and its main-programs are research, education and clinical services. Diseases of the heart and circulation are the leading cause of death, not only in Delaware, but in the entire United States. A group of doctors and laymen in this state organized the Delaware Heart Association early in 1949 and much good work has been done to combat the disease. Many children and adults have benefited by the functions of the worthy organization and MacLeod has many interesting and informative things to say on the subject.
