EUCLID broke alertly and .secured a good position, was urged forwardly placed between horses to wrest command entering the far turn, quickly established a safe lead and maintained his speed evenly under urging; DO REPORT immediately opened a clear lead, offered little resistance when challenged by the winner, but then held on gamely in the drive and bested ARMAGEDDON. The latter was attempting to reach DO REPORT when he bore out badly, on the first turn continued to show a tendency to race wide throughout 3nd weakened under punishment. DOUBLE HEADER II reserved off of the pace, saved ground and closed well without mepacing. BIG PRINT raced evenly TIP II ran in awkward fashion. PASATIEMPO and SETUBAL quit. GREAT MOGUL was hustled into command at the beginning, raced along easily setting the pace and had reserve-to repulse TO CHALLENGE when called upon in the stretch. The latter gradually made his way forwardly placed on the out- -side, loomed a bold threat in the drive, but suddenly weakened. TURKEY BOOTS, outrun for a half-mile lost distance racing around horses and could not get up. MR. DOIT, in hand while pocketed behind the first fliaht early, lacked a rally in the drive. LETDOWN dwelted at the start and trailed for a half-mile, then closed wifh good late courage. WHY SURE was outrun. BARBARA BELLE and BALLYNEETY faltered READY TO WEAR lost distance racing out in the track and ran climbing fashion. Scratched-903612 Marble Hall, 109.
