Death Takes R. S. Byrum, Prominent Midwest Horseman JEFFERSONVTLLE, Ind., June 25.— R. S. Byrum, well known trainer and owner on the Midwest circuit, died here of a heart attack yesterday. Byrum formerly trained the stable of Carl Graham, of Terre Haute, Ind., and himself was a native of Rock-port, Ind. Byrum did most of his campaigning at Kentucky and Detroit tracks and among the horses he handled were Night Crawler, Boss Hoss and Big Cat. He was a veteran of World War n. Funeral arrangements were not available at a late hour today.
