Morris Guest Speaker At TCA Dinner Tonight TRA Presidents Address to Be Followed by Usual Open Forum LEXINGTON, Ky., June 25.— The program committee of the Thoroughbred Club of America has stepped up its efforts to bring to its meetings speakers prominent in various phases of the thoroughbred industry so that the club members may learn first hand the viewpoints of all concerned. In keeping with this policy, the club "will have John A. Morris as guest speaker at the dinner meeting tomorrow evening at the Lafayette Hotel. Morris has various affiliations with the turf, but will address the club as president of the Thoroughbred Racing Associations and for this reason it is assumed that his discourse will center on .the activities of that body. Gus Owens, secretary of the TCA, expects an attendance of about 100 members and friends and points out that with the breeding season practically over and with the time of the dinner set to follow cocktails at 6:30 pjn. a representative crowd should be in attendance. It is the policy of the TCA program committee to include an open forum discussion following the address of the speaker and it is presumed that some of the questions to be put to Morris will be aimed at getting the TRA attitude toward the activities of he HBPA. Rober O. Read, national president of the latter body, %as the most recent guest of the Thoroughbred Club and members will be interested to hear the track operators version of many of the same questions that were asked of Read.
