BEAKER raced forwardly from the start, but drifted out whilq assuming command entering the stretch and during the stretch run and was disqualified. MR. BENTON, slow to settle into stride, closed well to wear down TEAKWOOD. The latter was always prominent and was bothered by BEAKER through the final quarter mile. 1RVIN W. closed with good energy f after being sluggish. BEACONS GLORY raced evenly. RACE TANDEM was sent to the front immediately after the start, disposed of RUGGED BOYS challenge entering the stretch and drew clear with only mild urging. The latter drifted out and gave way badly following his unsuccessful attempt to displace the leader nearing the stretch. LUXURY TAX made up ground too late to threaten. CHALLA ROCK was within striking distance to the stretch and raced extremely wide. SUPER SIGN retired early. BEN TALLY-HO moved from off his stablemates pace to attain command after about a mile, and was rated in front thereafter, then was roused mildly while tiring. GOOSE BAY was always formidable while fencing fairly well, but was not good enough. GALANT SHIP landed very badly at the second fence, was never a factor, but caught tired horses. LORD IVOR was in front for about a mile and quit badly. SWORDS POINT was a factor only briefly, as was PETROVNA. MIGHTY MO felUt the tenth jump and CAP-A-PIE fell at the sixth jump. There was an inquiry ordered involving SCARLET CLOVER but no action was taken. QUESTION FIVE made up ground while on the outside from the start. CAROLYN R. lacked a closing surge. SEEBIT enjoyed a clear lead into the stretch and flattened out badly. FAIR BIT wasrafik while bing rated early. TRENTON SAND faltered in the final quarter. TACITUS showed nothing. KHAN, unhurried while trailing early, responded under energetic handling and wore down SPRING GROVE. The latter was always formidable but could not resist the winner. ALF A MO raced RAMP into defeat without difficulty, continued on gamely when engaged, then weakened in the final sixteenth. SHADOW BOXER lacked the necessary rally. The latter moved from far back to attain a slight lead briefly in late stretch, then gave way. HIT BIT wrested command on the turn, drew clear rapidly when straightened for the drive, then faltered. ANDROS moved from far back, but was unable to menace the top three. PROUD SON weakened through the stretch.
