The latter moved up boldly on the outside to reach the lead between calls during the stretch run, then held on willingly in a good effort TO THE FRONT, much used setting the early pace, had little left. The latter closed with courage after being guided to the inside for the4 drive and gradually was overtaking thetop one. SON FEN gave way to the winner at the furlong marker, then continued to tire when placed to pressure. BENHADAR, far back early as usual, lacked the necessary rally. FIRST BOY recovered gamely after stumbling while leaving the gate, was rushed into contention before going a quarter mile, but failed to stay. CARYS HOPE was always outrun.
