Sabette Works Out Nine , Furlongs at Spa in 1 :58 Belairs Diana Handicap Winner Is Prepping for Alabama Wednesday SARATOGA, Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Aug. 22. Belair Studs Sabette, winner of the Diana Handicap last Wednesday, worked a mile and a furlong Saturday morning in preparation for next Wednesdays Alabama Stakes at a mile and a quarter. The Alsab filly was clocked in 1:58, along with her stablemate, His Duchess, but dominated that filly at the finish. They were only asked to run the last part of their trial, getting the fourth quarter in :25 and final furlong in :13. Cain Hoy Stables Turn-To, who is pointing for next Saturdays Hopeful Stakes, stepped six furlongs in 1:15. The Royal Charger colt was not fully extended in his handy trial. Louis B. Mayers Princess Lygia, who has failed to reproduce her Chicago form since coming East, showed considerable improvement when she skipped five furlongs in 1:00 this morning. The move impressed work-watchers considerably. Princess Lygia is eligible to the Vagrancy Handicap early in the impending Aqueduct meeting. Mrs. Jan Burkes Squared Away, who will also probably be seen under silks at Aqueduct, breezed five furlongs in 1:02, being eased at the end.
