Seven Routers Compete In Price Hill Purse Grand Nugget, Miracle Mile and With Ease Go in Hamilton Event By R. E. HURLEY Staff Correspondent HAMILTON, Ohio, Aug. 22. Racing at the Butler County Fair Grounds heads into its second lull week of twilight racing Monday after completing the best opening week in the 14 seasons that the Ohio Sports Enterprises have operated this half-mile plant. Daily crowds averaged 4,500 patrons for the first week and mutuel play was running far ahead of last seasons totals. Route racing aimed at developing stars for the two mile and a sixteenth Hamilton Endurance on September 5 will be featured during the next two weeks and seven routers meet Monday at a mile and a sixteenth under allowance conditons. H. E. Lons Grand Nugget and A. Thomas Miracle Mile, a couple of winners over the track, will meet Frosty Acres, With Ease, Sudden News, Collins Girl and Respectable in the race which honors the neighboring community of Price Hill in suburban Cincinnati. Both Grand Nugget and Miracle Mile defeated easier opponents than they meet Monday though there is nothing needed to explain success. Grand Nugget won at the same distance as the Price Hill coming very fast to gain a narrow decision. Miracle Mile was a more impressive winner at a shorter distance, but gave every indication of being able to handle routes. With East, Frosty Acres, Sudden News and Respectable raced with consistency at River Downs and all have had a race over the sharply banked Hamilton oval. With j East, in particular, seemed to find himself at the close of a recent sprint. As usual eight races have been programmed and first post- wilL remain at 4:00 p. m. for the second week of racing.
