Rufus E. Felder, Veteran Trainer, Dies of Heart Attack GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 12. Rufus E. Felder, 63, veteran colored trainer, died last night at his temporary residence in Merchantyille, N. J. He had suffered a heart attack Sunday night. A native of South Carolina, he had been training horses for the last 36 years. Prior to that he had conditioned polo ponies, some of his patrons being the Reynolds family, of Winston-Salem; Barbara Guggenheim and Fred Glass. At the time of his death he was training for G. W. Parker. Felder is survived by his widow, a brother and sister in South Carolina, .and a brother in New York. The body will be shipped to Brooklyn for funeral services..
