, , : Sportsmans Park Notebook Three-Year-Old Filly My Move Is Dam Of Yearling Colt Heres the Story By J. J. MURPHY 1 SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 12. A parody on the bromide concerning the mare who allegedly finished first in a race, with her foal taking second honors, is actually in the development stage here in Illinois; for a three-year-old filly or is she a mare? is in training here and has a yearling colt who may see action next year, if it is at all possible to locate his mysterious pappy ... To begin with, Charles H. Bur-man, Jr. purchased a two-year-old filly at a Sale last summer. She was a rather buxom daughter of Triplicate, out of the mare Owners Abroad, and carried the name, My Move. It was noted, without undue alarm at the time of the sale, that My Move was heavier than other fillies in the sale, but this hardly was reason for concern. A few months later in the fall, My Move made her "move." She gave birth to a handsome colt in a Lincoln Fields stall. Then the trouble started. An effort was made to have the mother and foal returned to the seller, but this procedure struck a number of snags. It is our understanding the. matter has not yet been settled. While all of this was transpiring, the foal became a yearling and My Move was placed back in training. She is an extremely well molded filly, and her trainer, C. H. Karl, says she can run. In the meantime, they are still trying to locate the sire of My Moves son. It is claimed that she had been turned out with a number of young thoroughbreds prior to her sale, and that one of these was a colt. It is said that he was the only male in the group. Wed better no- get into the myriads of possibilities in this un-. usual case. Were afraid we might run into one of those "Whos on Second" discourses if ve did.
