LADY RIDGEWELL was caught in close quarters next to the rail on the backstretch and was eased back and taken to the outside, then easily passed the early leaders approaching the stretch turn to draw away in the stretch FOREVER HI was closest to SLAMMING SLAM in the early running and outfinished the latter. SLAMMING SLAM had good speed while setting the pace and saving ground, but tired. CARD SHARP vas racing fairly well at the finish. SEDGEG00D was outrun. Scratched 16434 Hct Chocolate, 120. COPETE was unable to keep up with the early leaders, but was not far away and, coming fast to fnd an opening near the finish, got up to win. in the final strides. NICE TRY showed the way early, lost the leadership between calls when POLTROON slipped through on the inside nearing the entrance to the backstretch, then took command once , more only to be again headed by POLTROON nearing the stretch turn, raced wide on the turn, but continued gamely in the middle of the track and, getting to the front once more in the last few strides, just failed to hand on. POLTROON saved ground throughout and went well to the finish. BASHFUL SUN was in close quarters early while racing on the inside. The others were outpaced. LADY SAMM was a good contender from the start and, gaining on MIMADA after going half the distance, wore her down despite going very wide in the stretch and was drawing away a tthe end. MIMADA went to the front at once and drew clear after going half the trip, but faltered in the final drive. BE-MI-DEAR made up some ground in the late stages and was going well at the finish. TOP SPINNER also made up some ground. TEXAMILO was in close quarters nearing the second turn and was drawing away at the end. MIMADA went to the front at once and dew clear after goinq half the trip, but was taken up, losing his chance. SKITTERYGUSSET failed.to be a serious factor. CHICKS DELIGHT was under steadying restraint while following the pace of CHANCE CLOUD, then went to the front when ready, after leaving the backstretch, and despite losing some ground in the stretch, held SELABULL. The latter improved her position in the late stages and was racing well at the finish. CHANCE CLOUD rushed to the front early and had something removed while making the pace. DIDAPPER made up ground. THIRD LADY lacked early speed and trailed in the first part, then saved ground nearing the stretch turn to reach a forward position and was gaining fast at the finish. FAITHFUL RING was always a good contender and went steadily to the end. POACHING raced rather wide and failed to threaten for the leadership. MY ETHELYN tired. FRABOTTA was unable to keep up. JOE GRAVES was well placed early and taken under light wraps, moved up on the outside nearing the stretch turn to take command at midstretch and, shaken up nearing the end, had enough left to hold CHALLCOTE. The latter moved up boldly between horses nearing the stretch turn to find an opening and closed strongly. TOP NEWS was outrun to the stretch, then came with good courage. COW TOWN went in the air at the start and was off poorly, then moved up in the last quarter, but was required to go wide on the stretch turn and was unable to threaten seriously. LEWIS A. Won easily; second and third driving. MID CENTURY was. Well rated while racing not too far from the pace and, gaining steadily on the outside of OUR KITE after leaving the backstretch, took command on thestretch turn to draw out thereafter. OUR KITE headed the pacemaking TEDDYS HEIR when ready and disposed of him in the final drive, although seemingly no match for the winner. TEDDYS HEIR showed good form in pacemaking and went fairly well to the end. MR. DINK went wide most of the way and failed to threaten. PANADE tired. EQUICHALL and GUMPTIOUS were badly outrun. DAYLIGHT TIME saved ground from the start, and racing close up under rating, got through on the inside of VEZLARK nearing the stretch turn to assume a short advantage, but was unable to draw out and was doing his best to win. VEZLARK was a forward factor early, then made the pace under steady rating and held on well. MARETAZO dropped many lengths out of it in the first half mile.and was required to race wide when he came around several horses on the stretch turn but closed fast. SLICK KNIGHT went steadily, although inclined to race a trifle wide. HOOPDEDONT was never a serious contender. MERRY MOUNT tired.
