Tale of Two Cities Defeats Blue Sail at The Curragh Special to Daily Racing Form THE CURRAGH, County Kildare, Ireland, May 12 Reuters. Alberta Ranches Irish-bred three-year-old Blue Sail, probable mount of Johnny Longden in the Epsom Derby, was turned back in the Tet-rarch Plate at seven furlongs here today. Blue Sail, 5-to-2 second choice and ridden by Liam Ward, was beaten by J. McLean, Jr.s Tale of Two Cities, hot favorite at l-to-2, and ridden by the English jockey, Billy Nevett. Ward had the Tehran colt away well but he was outpaced early by the speedy Arctic Wind and Tale of Two Cities. Blue Sail impressed critics by the manner in which he made up ground to finish two lengths behind the odds-on winner. Messrs. Bell and McMahons colt obviously would have relished a longer distance as he finished powerfully and didnt appear distressed in the unsaddling enclosure.
