IMURGUY, never far removed from the early leaders, went to the front on the final turn and, after assuming a commanding advantage entering the stretch, continued on gamely without urging. FANELIS ALLEY raced in closest pursuit of the leader for three furlongs, was shuffled back slightly on the turn, then was unable to endanger the winner during the late stages. SISTER ! LOUISE failed to make up appreciable ground. THRUST moved up menacingly hearing the furlong maVker, but faltered when punished. GLORIOUS EMMA cam2 to the inside for the drive, but was hot good enough. IM IN TROUBLE and HAM HOCKS were always outrun. SELECTIVE quit, as did ASH TRAY. OBERON closed determinedly and perhaps would prefer a longer distance. ANCIENT CITY, much used early, had little left. DEEP RIVER was unable to keep up. DASH FOR CASH lacked speed. IN VIEW, unhurried when outrun early, came tp the outside to replace GOLDEN FURLONG approaching the final fence and retained a clear advantage thereafter when fully extended. CHERWELL, permitted to settle into best stride, ws sent into closer contention on the far turn, then failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the final test. GOLDEN FURLONG showed good speed durinjg the running, shortened stride when challenged leaving the final turn and continued to tire when subjected to brisk urging. TOURIST LIST was always outrun. PATROL was unable to be sternly persevered with when his rider lost his irons during the run down the backstretch. PALAJA never was prominent. CAMMELL LAIRD possessed a clear lead when he bobbled and fell at the eighth jump. LOUIS SEIZE went down at the third. Overweight Cammell Laird, 1 pound. AMBIGUOUS, fcrwardly placed from the beginning, raced evenly through the late stages. FAST AND FAR failed to respond when called upon fo rhis best effort. FRIENDLY ACE faltered slightly when subjected to brisk urging. RETRACT lacked the necessary rally. FINAL POLE was unable to keep up. OCEAN LANE had no apparent mishap. QUESTION TIME, outrun v early, responded gamely to forge to the front at the furlong marker, then shortened stride when punished. HENRYI, never far back, moved up menacingly leaving the near turn, lugged in nearing the furlong marker impeding LITTLE BEAR, then was unable to cope with the top pair. HENRYI was disqualified for fouling and placed last. HILL ROSE rallied belatedly to become an endangering factor. ANEGADA was always I outrun. WINSOME WON gave way suddenly inside the stretch. MOOSE MOOSE raced wide. LITTLE BEAR, I forced to take up sharply when in close quarters at the furlong marker, continued to tire thereafter. ADDITION began tardily and lost all chance. BEAGAM quit. BEGORRA, reserved back of the leaders for a half mile, moved up briskly on the outside on the final turn to attain the runner-up position, went to the front when ready thereafter and retained a commanding advantage winning with speed in reserve. GOLDEN GLOVES, shuffled back slightly on the final turn, came fast after being straightened for the drive and though no match for the winner easily prevailed over the others. RAM 0 WAR, sluggish early, rallied too lateylo become an endangering factor. ALERTED faltered when punished. BICARB saved ground to the turn, thenfailed 16 rally when roused.
