Italian Derby to Botticelli Special to Daily Racing Form ROME, Italy, May 14. Reuters .Botticelli, by the 1939 Epsom Derby winner, Blue Peter, out of Buonamica, Thursday won the 0,430 Italian Derby run over 12 furlongs. Owned by the stables of the late Signor Federico Tesio, Botticelli won by three lengths from Gibi Stables Vernet with Razzaticine Stables Orvieto a length further away and third in the field of eight runners. The winner was ridden by Enrico Camici.
